# Connect an AI app to Summer

Let an AI app like Claude or ChatGPT use your Summer account. Ask it who’s online, to message your friends or to invite them to play a game with you, and it does it as you.

## Connect

Add Summer to your AI app with this address: https://mcp.summer.games/mcp

- **Claude:** On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Connectors in Claude’s settings and choose **Add custom connector**. Name it Summer and paste the address above. Claude then opens Summer so you can sign in and allow it.
- **Claude on your phone:** Add Summer on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop first, as above. You can’t add it in the phone app. Then open the Claude app on your iPhone or Android phone with the same Claude account, and Summer is already there.
- **Claude Code:** Run `claude mcp add --transport http summer https://mcp.summer.games/mcp`, then open `/mcp` in Claude Code and choose summer to sign in.
- **ChatGPT:** On chatgpt.com, open Settings, then Apps (it may say Apps and connectors), then Advanced settings, and turn on **Developer mode**. Back in Apps, choose **Create**, name it Summer, paste the address above, pick OAuth for sign-in and confirm. ChatGPT then opens Summer so you can sign in and allow it. Which plans can do this changes, so check OpenAI’s help if you don’t see these options.
- **Other AI apps:** If your AI app can add a custom connector or a remote MCP server by its address, paste the address above. The app then opens Summer so you can sign in and allow it. You don’t need a key or a password for it.

When you connect, Summer shows the app’s name and the site it will send you back to. Anyone can give an app any name, so only allow it if you trust that site.

## Try asking

- “Who’s online on Summer?”
- “Ask my friends on Summer if anyone wants to play tonight.”
- “Invite Ana to play Star Weavers with me, and tell me when they join.”
- “What’s new on Summer?”
- “How do I compare with my rival?”
- “Open my Summer library on my computer.”

## What it can do

- See your profile, your friends and whether they’re online or playing, your friend requests, your messages, your notifications, your party and your party invites.
- Find a player by their exact @handle or friend code. It can’t search players by name.
- Find a game by its name.
- Send friend requests, accept or decline ones you got, and cancel ones you sent.
- Read and send direct messages with your friends, and mark messages and notifications as read.
- Invite players to play a game with you: it starts a party if you’re not in one, sets the game if you lead the party, and sends the invite. It can also accept or decline party invites, check who joined, leave your party and chat in it.
- Send rival requests, answer them, end a rivalry, and compare your play and rankings with a rival.
- See and change your display name, language, region, whether friends see what you play, and which push notifications you get. Your @handle can’t be changed.
- Give you summer.games links to the games, players, chats, parties and invites it tells you about.
- Open a page in the Summer Games app on your computer, such as a game’s store page, your library, your friends or settings. It only shows the page; it never presses anything there.

## What it can never do

These stay in the Summer apps, where you do them yourself.

- Buy anything or spend your Sparks.
- Close or delete your account.
- Block or unblock players, or report anyone.
- Change family or parent settings.
- Play games or do anything inside a game.
- See or change your other connected apps.

## Before you connect

- **It acts as you.** Messages, friend requests and invites it sends look exactly like the ones you send yourself. Nobody is told an AI app sent them, and the [Community Standards](https://summer.games/community-standards) apply to them as they do to you.
- **Check before it sends.** AI apps usually ask before they send or change something for you. Read what it’s about to send before you say yes.
- **The same rules apply.** Direct messages still go only to friends, blocks still apply, and the same limits stay in place. An app can use at most half of your account’s limits, so your Summer apps keep working.
- **What the app sees.** When it reads your friends, messages, notifications, party or settings, that information goes to the AI app and the company that runs it.
- **Accounts without social features.** Players under 13 don’t have friends, messages or parties on Summer, so a connected app can’t use them for those accounts either. If Summer asks for your birthday when you connect, this is why.
- **It works with your Summer friends.** It sees and messages the friends you have on Summer. No friends yet? Share your friend code from [Friends](https://summer.games/friends), or ask the app to find a player by their @handle and send a friend request.
- **Cards in the chat.** In AI apps that show them, your friends, your party, messages and games appear as cards. While a party card is on screen, it checks every 20 seconds and tells the chat when a friend joins.

## Disconnect

Go to [Settings → Connected apps](https://summer.games/settings#connected-apps) on the Summer Games website. It lists every app you connected, with when you connected it and when it was last used. Choose Disconnect and the app stops working right away.

If an app says Summer signed it out, or you haven’t used it for 30 days, connect it again.
